Working hard on our wedding site now. Man, I've gotten rusty at CSS and PHP (not that I ever used PHP, but it doesn't seem very difficult) but at least WordPress seems to have a pretty strong user base.

It can be a double edged sword though...

1/21/08 - Dana and I sacrifice some bananas for some banana bread. Oh the cake is definitely not a lie, and is very moist and delicious.

1/26/08 - Arthur came over for a bachelor party and hung out with Dana and I in the down-time. Yum... Red Mango!

1/28/08 - We get snowed in and do our best working from home. Isn't Dana just the cutest?!?!?! (hug)

Well needless to say Dana and I have been busy playing with our new toys... (blink)

I've picked up a new AT&T Tilt. It's about as close to perfect as I could get to my "perfect" cell phone. I'm actually really happy with it as it's got tons of stuff and feels really well put together.

Upgrade

I moved my blog location to blog.zhuum.com, not that it really matters. (nod) I guess the key important change was that I upgraded my blog software directly from the creators rather than using the built-in upgrade engine.

But not before they managed to mangle my categories, theme and static pages.

Ugh, in any case, I'll probably be able to restore most of this stuff eventually.

Until then, I want to go eat!

OK I lied. I got the static pages back up and working. Now to find out where to eat! (drool)

I've been getting fairly flustered looking around the market for a phone I really want. It just doesn't seem to exist, but I've fortunately been able to start narrowing down all the features I'm really looking for a phone at this moment.

Bummed...

So I decided to log in to my web hosting account manager, and I noticed that a blog update was available for my blog software of choice, simple PHP blog.

In a nutshell, I basically nuked all of my posting categories, static sites, links, custom themes, etc. that I had on my blog. For what it's worth, I didn't actually lose any of my postings, although in all honesty, there really isn't all that much of worth in here anyhoo. (giggle)

Oh well, I hope restoring my theme at least doesn't take too long.

Mobility

I must admit that mobile browsing is a painful painful process at this point. Everything seems to be a half-hearted attempt to render limited html with an abymal user interface and crappy plugin support.

Enter the iPhone and its implementation of Safari... a glittering and enticing gem among the failures of PDA and smartphones with their crippled mobile web browsers. It seems that innovation and advancements had slowed to a crawl before the iPhone reared it massive aesthetic head.

Fortunately, a little competition and shame is all it takes to get companies kicking it into high gear. Opera Mini (which I'm using now) and Microsoft Deepfish (still in development) are making their way to the fore; the prior a platform independent Java Applet, and the latter a Windows Mobile native offering.

With the Windows Mobile platform slowly increasing its sex appeal, general consumers are really starting to hop on the bandwagon. Now that we're here, lets start seeing some *real* content and innovation to keep us tied to our Windows Mobile phones yes?

Thanks Apple. The mobile app community really needed that fresh kick in the pants to get the development train out of the station again.

Productivity

So I've been trying to have a productive day at work so I can go home early, but life seems to be trying to circumvent that. (crying)

My motherboard died yesterday early afternoon, and Matt dropped a PR I need to test ASAP late afternoon. I recieved a temporary testing machine from our wonderful admin team very shortly after the PR dropped, but getting it set up has been SLLOOOOWWWW.

The machine is now up and running, after installing my test OS, but I've spent the last 2.5 hours watching it image my drive.

Anyways, its starting to look like I won't be getting around to any productive testing until maybe... 4:00'ish. FC meeting at 1:30, team meeting at 3:00, etc etc.

BLEH. I should've just stayed home and slept in. (sleepy)
